Hello, I have a 2021 macbook pro M1 max 16" that suddenly stopped playing videos on any platform after being disconnected from an HDMI connection to a Samsung television. The HDMI connected got unplugged accidentally when the tv said "recognizing device".
Videos play just fine when the hdmi is reconnected but do not as soon as I take away the external display. This is a huge issue as I am a video editor and need the machine for on the go editing. Premiere Pro also freezes on open. Interestingly, on quicktime the videos open but don't play, however on VLC they play without sound (all preferences are set to macbook speakers).
I have updated software, restarted, turned off, and reconntected to TV several times.
PLEASE if anybody has any advice on this issue, let me know.
