iMac suddenly won't play videos in ANY browser

Running 10.6. Cleared cache and reinstalled Flash. Still nothing. Example: in YouTube, I just get a black box, no video.

Have tried with Firefox, Safari and Chrome. No luck.

What else can I try?

When you say you reinstalled Flash, did you uninstall it first as per the instructions on the Adobe website?

Hi, thanks for your response. Yes, I did uninstall Flash and then re-installed it. Didn't help.

But it turned out to be Java. Apparently I had gotten an automatic update that was no longer compatible with 10.6. So I found a version that was, downloaded it from Apple, installed it and everything's working perfectly.
