Transferring all files to new MacBook from external HD

How can I transfer ALL files, photos, secure virtual disk, music, etc, from my old '09 MacBook (Lion), to a new MacBook Air using my Iomega external drive (which I use with Time Machine).

presuming your new Air has enough space, use Migration assistant when you setup your new Air, it should prompt you to move a user space from a TimeMachine backup.
