Track pad

Mac Air 2015 OS 10.13.4
The track pad is very touchy. It selects any link it passes when moving the arrow. Very frustrating when it opens another site and I lose my place on the previous site. I had to turn off most gestures because they activated to easy. Nothing in preferences seems to make a difference.

Is sounds to me like it may a defective trackpad.

-Has any liquid ever been spilled on the keyboard/trackpad?
-What happens if you connect and use a USB mouse/trackpad?
-Do you have Tap to click disabled?

thanks. I took it to the genius bar. they messed with it and its ok now
