Internet issue

Hi, I have only recently switched from a PC so I'm still learning about Mac!

This seems to be a fairly common problem, I cannot connect to the internet. It had been working fine, and I still have very good WiFi signal, yet Safari 'Cannot connect to the server'.

My internet is fine as my PC, phones, and iPad all connect fine... Just my Mac won't.

I am running software OS X 10.8.2

Any help would be appreciated.

Not a common problem for the Mac, but a common problem for new Mac users...

From the WiFi menu does your network have a tick beside it, just because WiFi is on does not mean it connected to your Network...

Are you receiving any email & have you tried Software Update in the Apple menu just to test other internet connections besides Safari?

Hmmm, I just read through a few threads elsewhere about this issue:

Mountain Lion Wireless will not stay connected

Mountain lion wifi problems

I'm running 10.7.5 so I can only suggest you look through these threads and see what has worked for some and give them a try ...

Nope nothing on there works.

How would I go about downgrading? It seems that the problem has only occurred since the 10.8.2 update.

System Preference > Network > Click Assist me... > Click Diagnostic...
DON'T click Continue
Just tell me what is the Network Status
They are Lights, Green - Orange - Red
