I have a MacBook Air M1 and the new software update can't download for some reason.
Any solutions?
I’m assuming you are trying to download from System Preferences -> Software Update. You can try -> App Store… and in the search field type “macOS Monterey.” It should come up in the next window. Click on “View” and in the next window click on “Get.”
The download should start, into your Applications folder. When the download is done, it will automatically launch. At this point I recommend quitting and making a
copy of
Install macOS Monterey.app to another folder or other device. Afterwards, if you are all set to proceed (do you have a current Time Machine backup?) you can reboot to make sure the system is in a fresh state, and if the installer does not start automatically (it usually does not since you stopped it initially), double-click on it in the Applications folder, and it should begin. Don’t worry if it takes a while to show up. The only indication that it is working is from the icon in the dock.
If this does not work, you may be experiencing other problems with your Mac, ergo the original problem with the installation not working. A hardware test might be helpful, or maybe contact Apple Support.
