Hi there,

yesterday I bought an iMac 24" 2,66 GHz Intel Core 2 with Leopard, which I have not set up yet.

I still have a bootable Iomega ext HD with Tiger (10.4.11) and Mac OS 9 installed, which I use with my old iMac DV 400, e.g. to run the old Mac OS for certain jobs.

Can I use this HD setup with my new Intel iMac? Can I boot Tiger from the HD into the new Intel?

I just want to be sure, before ruining something.

Thanks for your advice!

Hello,
The version of Tiger that you have is for a PPC and your iMac (Intel) will not boot it up. However, the Tiger disc should still mount, so if there's anything on it that you want, you should be able to drag it out. :)

Thank you very much for your information and advice, Walrus666! So I will save all those things which are relevant to me, and erase the remaining hd data, including the Tiger system.
