Saving to hard drive

sometimes I am given the option to save something to my harddrive and sometimes just the cloud.
I assume when it saves to the cloud it also goes to the hard drive some how?

Then,
sometimes when I try to save to my hard drive it does not let me...??? I'm saving an html file using sublime text editor.

I tried looking for my hard drive on the computer but could not find it.
The closest i came was seeing the "startup disk."

When you say "hard drive", do you have just your internal drive, or an external one also? If you just have your internal drive, then yes, it is the "startup disk".

Can't help you regarding "Cloud saving", as I don't do that. I have 3 external SSDs (along with my internal ones) that I save all my stuff to.

When you say it does not let you save to the hard drive, do you get a permission denied message box?
if so you are probably trying to save to drive's root (not allowed).
