Playing vids from websites

I have noticed that I can't play certain things on my Mac.

~ no previews from Netflix
~ no ringtone previews from Cingular
stuff like that.

What do I need and how do I get it?

I don't know what format the clips on those web sites are in, but many videos/sounds online are in Windows Media format, which by default cannot be played on Macs, you could try downloading Flip4Mac which lets you play Windows Media files in Quicktime (since Microsoft stopped supporting Windows Media Player for Mac, that's what they suggest).

or just download wmp 9 regarless because no format for wmp is best supported then in the native app
otherwise you need to look for codecs and alternative apps like vlc
