Multi-Colored Flashing Lines During Startup

During startup my Macbook Pro's screen went crazy. There were many multi-colored lines flashing. This happened several times before the device started up normally. What should I do? It is insured under Applecare, but Im living out of the country.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

The Applecare warranty should be good regardless of country, are you near an Apple Store? Has there been a reoccurence of this?

What should I do? It is insured under Applecare, but Im living out of the country.

Possibly try resetting the PRAM have a look here

But personally I have had no issues taking Apple products to the GB in the UK or Switzerland, and it makes no difference where they were purchased. So if there is an Apple store near you would book an appointment.
