I have a MacBook Pro OS-X 10.6 I was moving files around earlier today and it froze and I shut it off now when I turn it on it stays on the apple start up screen. I do not have the disk to reboot and would really like to keep all my files. Does anyone know how I can reboot without the disk and keep all my memory?

Try booting into safe mode if your not sure of this look here, then run disk rapier.

Hi,

Then you defiantly need the install disks, you can get the two Snow Leopard OS X disks from apple here
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

Only other option is book an appointment with your nearest Apple GB.

Edit:

The GB engineer will also be able to reclaim the data you want to keep.
