Getting networked lexmark printer to work

Running OSX 10.4.11

I have a Lexmark P4350 printer connected to a Windows PC on my office network and set up as a shared printer.

I've downloaded OSX drivers from Lexmark and installed them ok.

But when I try to print something the Windows machine shows a file to be printed with an ever increasing file size and eventually the Mac times out.

I know Lexmark and Mac are not good bedfellows, but has anyone got one to work in this kind of setup?

Any help much appreciated.

One important point:

I'm using an Intel Mac. I think the Lexmark drivers are for PPC.

I've seen mention of using 'Open using Rosetta' to get round this, but have no idea what that's about.

Anyone help?
