So recently got an iphone 6 and itunes will no longer sync for me, as my computer is old and can't run anything more sophisticated than itunes 11.4.4

Is there any way I can download free music directly to my iphone and play it on my phone's itunes?

I'm thinking specifically of free downloads from bandcamp, but any source would be appreciated.

    Hello,

Have you tired the Bandcamp app? It will play songs in the app, not in the Music app on the iPhone.

Thanks for the answer, but if I'm reading the app right, I'd be streaming the music... and I don't really want to blow through my data doing that.

Correct, it would be streaming, unless it allows direct download into the Bandcamp app.

Unfortunately, there isn't any way to get music to the Music app on an iPhone other than iTunes, or direct purchase from the iTunes Store on the iPhone.
