I can login just fine after my laptop reboots, but if I put it to sleep and then wake it up, it doesn't recognize my password. Any advice would be great.

FYI, I have a MacBookPro, 15-inch Retina, Mid 2015 running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

-Can you logout and login successfully, without restarting?
-Are you using a local or iCloud password for your account?

Thanks!
I can't logout and login without restarting. I am using a local account name and password.

OK, thanks.

-Do you have a current Time Machine or other backup?
-That is strange, as the system should use the same password it uses for automatic login as it would for waking from sleep/screen saver.
-Does the password you think is correct allow you to install software and/or unlock the lock in System Preferences...?
