Bluetooth not available

Hi all,

I just replaced my HDD with an SSD on my mid 2010 macbook pro. The new hard drive works a treat but it seems to have killed my bluetooth.
The bluetooth icon keeps showing up as unavailable

I've tried:
-Resetting PRAM
- Debugging and resetting the bluetooth module
- Resetting SMC
- Deleting plist files

When I switch the computer on, bluetooth appears for a few seconds, it then manages to connect to my keyboard and mouse for a few seconds before the bluetooth icon switches back to "bluetooth not available"

Any ideas? I don't think it's a hardware issue because I went nowhere near the airport card when I was replacing the hard drive.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

It could be that one of the cables isn't seated all the way, or got pinched when replacing the bottom case.

-Which exact model 2010 MBP?
-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Did you perform a clean install on the SSD?

Hi Cory,
Thanks for getting back to me. It's a mid 2010 - A1278
I'm running Sierra because I'm not sure if the computer can handle anything newer - if it can, I'll upgrade
With the SSD, I cloned the HDD using SuperDuper and went from there.

I'll give taking the bottom case off a go and check the cables. Any other ideas of what it might be?

Thanks!
