2013 Mac Pro SSD Upgrade Limited?

I have been considering buying a 2013 Mac Pro. I was exploring upgrade options and it seems as though the only resource for the proprietary SSD upgrade is through OWC? If this is not correct, please let me know. This obviously poses a bottleneck with regards to this machine unlike prior intel Mac pros or newer models. Too bad.

I believe you may be correct, that OWC is the only SSD upgrade for the 2013 Mac Pro. It really comes down to the unique design - most manufacturers don't want the development costs for such a small, single model market. OWC is in the business of Mac upgrades, so they will reap the benefit of being one of or the only vendor selling this upgrade. OWC makes high quality products, so you shouldn't lose any performance, and you can gain up to 8X the storage capacity.
