Won't let me down load FCP or Imovie video editing

I have a mac OS High Sierra version 10.13.6, I can not download FCP or Imovie from appstore my system does not support the latest version. where can I get a compatible version of editing software for my 2012 machine

Do you have a friend with a mac with the required macos? if so you can log in to the app store and download the software Using your own Apple ID. Then go to the app store on your machine and in 'Purchased you should have your app icon, click to download/install and you will be told your os does not support this and do you want to download the last compatible version.
This should work with an iPhone or iPad if they are sufficiently recent.
