When browsing the internet, I an unable to go back to the previous page (can't go back, can't find the page in HISTORY). Have to start over - google search - find where I am in the search page etc. What is so hard to do that the iMac can't keep track of the previous page? What might be wrong in my settings or methods?

Is there another browser that I might use that will keep track of the previous page??

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome.

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Which browser - Safari? Which version?

You should be able to go back a page by click the left arrow button:

Or, click and hold on that button to see the list of visited pages and click on the one you want.

Let us know if those don't work and that is the issue you are having.
