want to make my (400) DV tapes digital on macbookpro 2016

I just bought the new macbook pro 2016, can anyone tell me which adapter i need to connect jvc gr-da30ag so i can import my tapes into IMOVIE??

Hello and welcome.

-Are you running macOS Sierra 10.12.x?
-Which version of iMovie - 10.1.5?
-Since that camera was introduced in 2007 or so, it doesn't seem to be supported by iMovie - iMovie supported cameras.
-The DV port is a version of FireWire, but I don't believe you could use adapters to get it to connect, because of the above.

I think your best bet may be to have someone convert the tapes for you.
