I have received a file with a lot of data placed in a Textedit format. I need to be able to format this data in order to create mailing labels for a mass mailing. Is there any way to convert this file to a usable Excel file so I can sort and use the data?:(

k, TextEdit doesn't really have its own file format, its just the default reader for text files.

The best way to print labels on the Mac is AddressBook or Bento. (you need to buy Bento)

Drag and Drop the Text File onto Excel Icon and it will open. Save it and you can then import it into AddressBook.

this is not easy nor straight forward.

Personally I would strongly recommend Bento (~$US 50), which is quite easy and straight forward.
Bento also has lots of other uses.
