I got the message that my Flash player was out of date, and got suckered into allowing the update.
I now get random, or seemingly random web pages coming up
( you have won an Apple iPhone and free ukranian girl dates, etc, and on and on)
A user pointed me to a security update page on the real adobe.com.
I did their update!
Where do I go from here?

If I delete SAFARI.... where can I reinstall and will that do it, and I guess I loose all my bookmarks.

Need to know some things:

1. What exact Mac model do you have?

2. What exact Mac OS are you using?

3. Are you making any backups to an external device?

4. Have you tried another browser, like Google Chrome, Opera, or Firefox? You can get them from here:

Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/brows...VsfgodUUACVg&dclid=CPfk2uG31NQCFVJ1YgodWJkMYQ

Opera: http://www.opera.com/?gclid=CPLk6-631NQCFYiBfgodr7EIVA

Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

When you do that, do not initially have the bookmarks from Safari imported/added.

You can download, install, and run the excellent program MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, from here:

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

If that does not work, and if you do not have a backup, and you want to get rid of everything associated with any program, download and install the excellent free program AppCleaner, available from here:

https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

However, it is my understanding that to remove Safari, you would need to do a re-installation of the Mac OS you are using. Here, though, is a comprehensive list of what you can try:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7021949?start=0&tstart=0

Additionally, use the program AppCleaner to completely remove Adobe Flash Player. For most sites these days, you do not need it.

Hello and welcome.

In additional to honestone's great advice, DO NOT delete Safari, as you will have to reinstall Mac OS X to reinstall it, or copy it from an recent Time Machine or other backup. We can solve the issue without deleting it.

As a side note...you wouldn't lose your bookmarks by deleting it, but that is an unnecessary step.
