Hello, Another "Newbie" question. I have acquired a 27" i-Mac and am on a steep tho' enjoyable learning curve. I have a password which is requested whenever Mac wakes from sleep or standby. When I switch everything off however and then boot up the next day, no password is requested and a fully accessible desktop appears. I've looked in Settings - Security but cannot find a way to correct what could be a security issue. Does anyone have the patience to talk me through it? Thanks in anticipation. btw......How I ever put up with Windows for as long as I did is a mystery to me!

In System Preferences, there is an option to enable/disable "Require a password when waking from sleep & screensaver". It's found in Security & Privacy under the General Tab.

Glad you're enjoying your new Mac. Any questions you have, just fire away Roger :)
