"Pages" to email

I downloaded an e-card; it shows on its own as a TIFF, and I am able to email that one.

But then I dragged the image onto a blank "Pages" Layout brochure page, added text balloons and a text message to it, and that one is not email-able. "Send" goes and goes and then I get a message saying wouldn't go through, try later. Which I have, several times.
