Pages and time machine

Hi everyone - I deleted some documents that I had saved on my desktop by mistake. I managed to retrieve most of them using time machine but there were 2 pages documents that I saved on my desktop that I wasn't able to retrieve. Is there a reason why I can't find these?

If your last hourly Time Machine backup didn't pick them up then this is why. Could they have been backed up to iCloud?
