No video

For ~2 weeks I have been unable to play MSNBC videos - specifically Therachelmaddowshow on my 3yo Macbook air. This seemed to coincide with the latest Safari update but I'm having the same problem with Firefox and Chrome. All browsers are up to date. Some videos on Facebook are also dark. I'm using el capitain OS

-Which exact versions of Safari, Chrome, and Firefox?
-Do you have Adobe Flash installed? If os, is it up to date?
-Do you happen to have ClickToFlash installed?

Firefox 56.0
Chrome 61.0.3163.100
My Mac won't let me download Adobe Flash but everything worked fine without until 2 weeks ago.
I haven't got ClickToFlash.

First of all, it is getting more and more the case where one does not need Adobe Flash Player. I have not updated it in quite a while, and in 99% of my browsing activities, using Google Chrome, I have not had issues.
