Failed to Transfer Video from a MiniDV Camcorder to a Macintosh Computer

I would like to convert MiniDV from my Sony DCR-PC101E camcorder to my
iMac, macOS HighSierra (10.13.6), Core i3, but need your help:
After connecting the camcorder to my iMac with Firewire cable I expected to see in iMovie > Import
my Video Sony DCR-PC101E in the column Devices, but nothing showed in!

I must note that on my MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) Core i5
I can see my video camera and work on it there.
How can I fix that on my iMac too?

-Which exact model iMac?
-Which exact model MacBook Pro?
-Can you see the Sony if you use the Image Capture, located in Applications?
-Are both Macs running the same version of iMovie?
