Hi, I'm having trouble sending emails from my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPad mini). I keep getting a 'no password provided' error. I've tried changing passwords, but it hasn't helped. Receiving emails works fine. Normally, I use my PC with Thunderbird, but I need my iPad for an upcoming trip. Gmail works without issues. Any ideas on how to fix this?

There are 2 ways to fix this,

The first option is to remove your email address and then set it up again. You do this in Settings -> Mail -> Accounts.

The other option is to go into your Account settings then to SMTP Server settings and enter your password in there. When you back out of the server settings page, it should verify that the settings are correct, then you should be set.

Hello Just jumping on this thread as this has happened with my iphone / hotmail settings. I have tried removing my email address and then set it up again - didn't work.
I have also tried going to account settings - SMTP server setting and entered my new password there. However the verifying process still says there is an error with the password - any other advice?

It sounds like an issue with the outgoing mail settings. First, check your SMTP settings in Settings > Mail > Accounts, and make sure the correct server and password are entered. Ensure Authentication is set to Password. If the issue persists, try deleting and re-adding the account. Also, make sure your devices are running the latest iOS/iPadOS version. You can also temporarily test Gmail’s SMTP settings if needed. If the problem continues, check for any outages with your email provider.
