Mouse sliding around

Intermittently - but often - I move my Magic Mouse 2 but the pointer hardly moves at all.

I've tried it on both my desktop and on a plain black mouse mat. I've got a small lens cleaner blower that I've squirted at the little hole on the bottom of the mouse, in case any fluff has got in there. That sometimes helps.

I have a late 2013 iMac, core i7, 16gb RAM, SSD and HDD, if that helps.

I am a photographer and it is so frustrating when using Photoshop in particular. I also have a Wacom Intuo Pro tablet attached, but not always switched on.

Any help to sort this problem would be great. (I did search before I asked, but couldn't find anything relevant.)

TIA

Hello,

-I assume you have tried charging it fully?
-Do you restart your iMac on a regular basis?
-Do have a USB mouse that you can connect, then delete the MM and re-add it?

Hello
Yes, fully charged whenever needed; I switch off each night.
I will try with a USB mouse as you suggest and let you know if it helps.
Thank you :)

No worries.

Yes, try that. Also, try not turning it off overnight, as it will go to sleep when not in use and not drain the battery.
