mod conversion for use on ivideo 09

Have a JVC camcorder which has the strange "mod" coding that will not open in Imovie 09 - Have tried renaming the files which does not work. Its a one off project so i dont really want to spend £30 on conversion software.
Any suggestions please

I'm not saying that there aren't any, but I can't think of any freeware apps that can do this. Perhaps, you can have someone who has the "conversion software" convert this .mod for you.

MOD is really an informal format which is difficult to be converted. well, i know some free one, such as handbrake, any video converter. if they cant do this job, i think u have to try Pavtube MOD Converter for Mac which can surely deal with this problem perfect.
