Greetings. : )
I have a Macbook Pro 15" Retina, mid 2015, running Catalina.
The display is failing (a tech has verified that) and I'm attempting to mirror the output to a monitor via HDMI.The monitor is syncing temporarily, then flashing a display box that says 'no time information' and gives some GHz stats. Then the screen goes to static Then it starts the process all over again.
Any thoughts on how I can get these units to stay in sync?
I'd really appreciate any input. : )
Thanks.

Hello and welcome.

Sorry for the delayed response...

It could be a couple of things:
-Incompatible external display - what brand/model is it?
-Bad HDMI cable
-Failing graphics chip on logic board
-Have you tried it with an AC adapter connected? Sometimes there are issues with certain external displays when running on battery.
