MBP Strange symbol on boot screen.

I have MBP OSX 10.8.4 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB 15" Late 2011.
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion. I now get this symbol on boot up screen. Should I be concerned about this?

Its the Apple but the jigsaw pieces are in the wrong place.

Looks like your NVRAM has a headache! Have you tried this:

Try booting up in Safe Mode, after you hear the startup chime, hold down the Shift Key.

Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).

Does this alter things any?
