Internet pages won't upload

I recently installed Mozilla Firefox, I had previously been using Safari. After a few days certain internet sites wion't open, apple and facebook. I have tried to uninstall Mozilla Firefox after reading on various forums that it was a common problem. I am now using Safari again however the same problem still exists. I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.11. Any advice/help would be very much appreciated.

I have fixed the problem after searching the net. I went into Tools and selected Clear History with the option of everything. I'm not sure how long the problem will be fixed for but fingers crossed it will be permanent. :)
