I pressed the wrong button and tried to send an email from my extinct BT internet account, its come back now saying it can't connect to Btinternet and I need a password. Even when I try to cancel it, it keeps popping up and won't go away. Even if I could remember the password I used, there is no email at BT internet so there's nothing I can do. What can I do to permanently delete the email?

PS I've just found the email in my outbox so have deleted it, sorry for any inconvenience

try this
While updating your contact's information in Address Book is definitely the first step; the second step involves editing your "Previous Recipients" list in Mail. To do this:

1. Open Mail.
2. From the Mail menu bar click Window, Previous Recipients
3. You can now select each address you no longer need to show up and click "Remove From List" (Hint: Use Command-Click to multiselect addresses.) You may sort the "Previous Recipients" list by name, e-mail address, or last used by clicking on the column header (twice to switch between ascending and descending).
