SOLVED IMovie error message

I was about to create a slide show in iMovie, mixed in with a few videos, and got an error sign I have never seen before: it said: "You are importing audio and video clips outside the primary storyline. You cannot add video clips to existing audio-only compound clips."

What on earth does this mean and why am I prevented from putting my photos in the project like I always do?

I'm stuck!

Hello,

I haven't used iMovie in years, as I don't create much video content.

I would try a new slideshow and see if you get the same error. A quick search found that other folks have had that issue as well, but no resolution that I could find.
