I’ve been rescuing a MacBook A1181 early 2008 core 2 duo 2.1Ghz and installed Lion. I want to use FaceTime but preferences and the on-off tab are greyed. The iSight camera is working and also the microphone but I obviously can’t log into my FaceTime app. I can access iCloud with iPhoto . Anyone got a simple solution ?

Hello and welcome.

I know there were a lot of issues with FaceTime back in the days of Lion.

Does the MacBook's built-in iSight camera work in Photo Booth and other video applications?

Yes the camera and Mike are working. The FaceTime app window opens with the camera working but I can’t register my details due to a server problem
