Facetime call

So this is a bit odd. When I do a Facetime call to my iMac/Sonoma, the Facetime app opens on that machine, and the Accept button appears at upper right. If I do a Facetime call to my MBP/Monterey, nothing happens if the Facetime app isn't already opened. How can I get that latter machine to respond to a Facetime call by opening the app? Is this a Notification issue?
