Downloading videos from Sony Camcorder to Final Cut Pro

Thanks to this site I was able to figure out how to download videos from my SONY camcorder to Final Cut Pro by changing the setting on the camcorder to USB. It looks and sounds like it's working but how do I know? I have 66 videos but nothing that indicates it's working. I'm new to MAC and Final Cut Pro.
