Hi I hope someone can help. I have an imac 2.4 intel core duo.It has completely won me over and i am doing less and less on my so called high powered dual processor PC.
Now the issue i have is i have a 002 pro tools music system i want to run on the mac. It highly recommends that you make some changes in the preferences for example stop spotlight searching the discs etc. What i want to know is , can i by creating a new user change the preferences just for that user.I think spotlight for example is brilliant( sorry about pun) and want it when using mac with photoshop etc so have created a user called protools for the protools prgramme. But when i change the preferences it makes global changes on all users. The other way is by installing pro tools on the windows xp-I have this installed on the imac using boot-camp.But i still would prefer my flagship program / hardware to run on the more stable Panther OS. Any advice would be welcome !! As an aside, i realize i am spoilt when you think of how good these macs are. I can't even hear this machine when its running! It's so quiet I thought it didn't work when i first pressed the power button!
Thank you for your time Paul Soffe
