cant upload videos from sony handycam

I have a sony handycam DCR-SR45 camcorder. when i hook up the usb cable to the camcorder n mac it'll only upload my photos to my computer. says cant read my movie files. what do i need to b able 2 transfer my movies 2 my mac?
