Can't capitalize the letter s.

When I try to capitalize the letter s by pressing the Cap and S buttons together nothing but a beep sound happens. No other letters act this way. Pressing the Caps Lock button is the only way to get the capital S to work.
This has been a problem since I bought the Mac new.
MacBook Pro bought around 2011 (when Lion first came out).

My iMac bought at about the same time doesn't have this problem.

Any ideas?

Hello and welcome. Sorry it took us so long to respond.

-Which exact model MacBook Pro?
-Which version of OS X currently?
-Have you tried using the iMac's keyboard with the MBP - does the issue happen with it as well?
-Have you tried using both Shift keys?
