Apple Watch Series 8 Keeps Unpairing During Setup

I just bought an Apple Watch Series 8 and started pairing it with my iPhone 12. It pairs initially, but after selecting my wrist preference, it starts another process and then unpairs itself. This has happened multiple times. I've tried restarting both devices, but the issue persists. Any suggestions? Cheers.

Sounds like it may be a defective Watch. You may want to go to the store and have it replaced.
