Video icon help

Hi, I'm new to using a Mac. I was using a window 10 pc. My question is:-
On the pc when using videos within a folder the icon would show a pictorial
image. This helped when viewing multiple icons to pick a part of a video to
use. This is the case whatever program is used, such as VLC or media.
On the Mac all I get is the program icon. This is whatever program is used,
Quicktime or VLC. Can this be altered? Any help appreciated.

Just wanted to add using a m2 with the O.S. Ventura, updated.

Or if the files are in MP4 format, you can use software to tag the video files. I use an app called iFlicks (https://iflicks.app) to do this.
