Video cd to Quicktime

Hi oane and all
Could anyone give me a little advice please
I am trying to convert a VCD to a Quicktime movie ( eventually create a DVD. I can't seem to find a way of playing the VCD in Quicktime... Any ideas please

Yes I do have QT Pro also I have just found an app out and about called

VCD and MPEG Tools
at

It does cost though it is $29.99

It's a bit confusing the software but it should convert for you If I can find a VCD later I'll let you know what settings to use.

I have ffMEPG it is a very useful tool but I don't think it will convert the dat. file in a Video cd. I have one churning away on the trial version of vcd tools I have downloaded I will let you know how it goes

once I am home, and anklebiter is in bed I'll try and dig out a VCD and see what I can come up with.

It has just finished converting the AVSEQ01.dat file to MPG with VCD Tools and I changed the viewing aspect rayio in undr 30 mins. I think therfore I am sorted.
I was right FFMpeg does not recognise the dat files.
