Using iVideo

Hi everyone, I want to try and make a video where I play a song and then paste video over the top of it with my friends and family singing along so it looks as if they are singing the original track, there are loads all over youtube so I'm sure you've seen them and they must be fairly easy to produce. I have iVideo '11 which I am trying to use to do it but it seems really complicated and I can't find a tutorial that will easily describe to me how to do it. I have the song and the video so what is the easiest way to do it or does anyone know of a straightforward tutorial I can use?
