Using Imac as dual monitor with mac pro

I have found info/videos showing how to use an imac as second screen to a macbook. Does anyone know if this can be done from mac pro to imac, please?
Mid 2010 imac 21.5" to mid 2012 mac pro. Both running High Sierra.

Hello and welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't think your iMac model is supported, as target display mode requires iMacs from 2011-mid 2014, or 24-inch/27-inch iMacs from 2009-2010. The 21.5-inch iMac didn't support target display mode until the Mid 2011 model.
