In my mac HD under users I have multiple folders. I have the newowner which is what I use, jake, wilson, shared, and newuser. There are some random files in them which may be there since the creation but can I delete any user names under users I don't really use. The newowner is the administrator account. Do I need to copy any files from the other user accounts just in case? I'm lost.

Jake,

If you are sure those other users have nothing that you want to save and you have administrative privileges to delete accounts, then it won't cause you any harm. Take a look inside their folder and spot if there is anything you think you should save. If not, go to your System preferences > Accounts and select the account(s) you want to delete. Then click the minus sign.
