SOLVED Use iMac as TV screen

Hi, this is my first post here so apologies if I do anything wrong.

I have a 2013 iMac and a caravan (very small screen) TV. I'd like to use the TV to receive the signal but watch on the iMac screen. Everything I can find online assumes the opposite - ie using a tv as an extra screen for the Mac.

Does anyone know if this is possible and how I might go about it?
