Hello,
I am trying to get a USB Snake Scope camera (Sentient N41GW) to run on my MacBook Air which is running on Sierra 10.12.5. I have read through previous comments but can't get this camera option to come up on PhotoBooth or QuickTime Player despite following previous tips.
Previously run this kit on Windows Vista using WinRar.
Any further advice please or do I bin it
Thanks for response Len - have tried the suggestions in the first thread but no joy. Have to admit I am out of my depth on these matters and need more than luck so may have done it wrong. When I plug the USB in, I am getting power connection but no indication that my Mac is seeing device.Hi Jonco. I may be retreading over territory you've already visited, but the issue appears to be between Sierra and Quicktime, not any particular device. Here are some threads that may be helpful. Good luck.

Thanks - I had read your earlier post advising this and had turned LED's to minimum but obviously not enough. Will look into extension port options. The problem is power: the camera, due to the LEDs, draws a lot of current and most USB ports cannot supply enough. I have managed to get around the problem by using an externally powered USB extension port. This is not just an externally powered USB port; it is an extension from the computer's USB that is powered separately from the computer itself. Only then was there sufficient power to the camera that allowed it to be seen by photo booth. It works well then; however, it is a bit clumsy over just plugging into the mac.
