Upgraded Hard drive, and now OS will not install

I have installed a new 750 gig hard drive and updated the RAM to 2gig, but i can't get my OS to install. I have the 2 discs that came with it, but it will not install! HELP! Apple Hardware gave no issues! HELP PLEASE!
