When mouse moves through text, the window moves too, often requiring resetting page a bit from left to the right or from up to down.

Not 100% sure about your situation, exactly, but you may want to try a free app called Rectangle. It has a great deal of settings for controlling shapes and placement of windows on screen. It took a while for me to get comfortable with the interface but slowly finding use for a few of the numerous settings. I found use for a limited number of settings after a while of getting acquainted with the app, but for those few, I’m quite happy to have them. For my dual 32"-monitor setup, I’m learning to appreciate several settings that work for me.

Thank you, but when I received my new Mac I spent a lot of time getting rid of unwanted functions and turning off software additions to simplify use. I'd rather deal with my iMac's problems than get another app to cope. I should be able to Zoom without have text jump and jiggle around or move to the left without my asking. For now, I have other needs to deal with. I'll try some of the other solutions suggested when not meeting deadlines.

Adding a wired mouse seemed to fix the problem, but it turns out it did not. When I have a page open with a window behind me, the window moves up and down a bit without my touching it, and without my moving the mouse on my active page. I'll get back with this problem later.

Good luck to you. It’s your Mac and you can choose how you wish to run it. But I will repeat, good luck. There are so many operations and tasks that the apps that came with macOS will not be able to perform—your problem with controlling windows, for one. And if you do have apps, whether by Apple or third party that you want to get rid of, if you simply drag that application to the trash and empty it, you will be left with a slew of related files (settings, preferences, etc.) that will be left behind and it will be a nightmare trying to trace them all when you start to notice odd problems, or disk space shortage, and Apple does not give you a utility for cleaning all of those related files automatically. So, again, good luck.

It seems you are using the zoom function from your post #3. Personally I have found the native zoom features difficult to set up and use to my satisfaction with the Macs System Settings. Third party app weren't much better. So rather than use floating zoom windows or keyboard commands I have simply increased the size of some web pages on my browser, eg. this page is at 110% and my browser saves that setting for this page. Same thing for the Pages app, the wrap around feature compensates really well.
You can also increase the system display size by adjusting the Screen Resolution;

As you can see I have selected the display one size larger than default. For a very minor loss of definition it makes everything that much more readable for me on my 14" M1 MBP.
